J.Mack x Paeme x First Initial Last Name Mixtape

Yaass kiddies, J.Mack has given the people a dose of dopeness with his newest mixtape "First Initial Last Name" presented by Paeme, but I wouldn't call it a mixtape because dude goes in for real. J.Mack is representing the DFW and doing it right by not only serving up some bangers, but also gettin' back to the basics...the lyrics man....PROPER. Support good x Dallas music and download J.Mack's new drop "First Initial Last Name," and check out the rest of Paeme's artists/works here.

Art Conspiracy 2010 x Dallas

The Art-Con is gearing up for its 2010 showing of local artists x musicians to support, well...other local artists and musicians. This non-profit event allows artists to create an original piece of work on an 18x18 panel the day before the show and auction them off on show day at a min. $20 while local musicians hit the stage and provide the sounds. After all is said and done, all proceeds will be donated to local Dallas charities selected by the Art-Con committee.

The Art-Con committee has decided to extend the deadline for artists x musicians to May 28, 2010, so if you want to hop on the Art-Con crew and shine your talents for the 2010 event, you best get on it and email: application@artconspiracy.org

This is definitely a dope event were artists (you), musicians (you), and members of our community (you) can get together and enjoy life while giving back to the D.F.Dub.

Date for Art-Con 2010 coming soon.

Theo Martins - YCDTOTV x Theophilus London - I Want You

I'm extra late with this, but here are two Theo's you should get familiar with ASAP.

Theophilus London x I Want You Mixtape:

Theophilus London dropped his latest work "I Want You" last week, which was inspired by Marvin Gaye with some Euro/LA flavor to it. Mr. London is ahead of the game with his style, and quite frankly I haven't heard anything like it - that is, an artist doing this multi-genre of music justice. Mixing UK indie, Soul, R&B, LA/Euro electrogroove sets him apart from the rest...and I can rock wit it.

Rhode Island native, MC x DJ Theo Martins is keepin' it real with his style. Nothing less then progressive hip-hop done proper with some soul mixed into it. Compared to his electro-hop mixtape "Channel Surfin'", his newest work "You Can't Do That On TV" definitely shows the more soulful/progressive/new wave hip-hop with a legit raw feel to it...kinda reminds me of Ken Starr mixed with Lupe, but I don't like to label artists...so he's simply Theo Martins...dope.

Sour Grapes x Bansky Film x Angelika Theater x GATW

With great anticipation and review, Banksy's new film "Exit Through The Gift Shop" will finally hit Dallas for its first showing in the metroplex at the Angelika Theater - presented by Gordon and The Whale (GATW). GATW also plans on hosting a little Q & A after the movie with the Sour Grapes crew to talk about how graffiti has changed over the past years and how important it is to today's generation. This event will definitely be dope; the Sour Grapes are doing the metroplex proper, so be sure to show some love.

GATW wants to hook you and yours up by throwing a free pass to the film as well. Just go here, print out the page, and enjoy...just be sure to show up early because the pass doesn't guarantee you'll be able to post inside!

Relfection Eternal x Minus The Bear Tours @ Granada

Reflection Eternal - Hi-Tek & Talib Kweli - will be hitting the Granada Theater May 13, 2010 for their Revolutions Per Minute tour. With a new album "Revolutions Per Minute" on the horizon and set for a May 18 drop, this will def. be a good look for Kweli & Hi-Tek heads to get a dose of dopeness for what's to come on the album, and hopefully they will bring a surprise guest - as the did with J.Cole on their Cinni/Rutger stops. Reflection Eternal's new album "Revolutions Per Minute" drops May 18, 2010. Tickets $30

Progressive-Indie band Minus The Bear will also be hitting the Granada on May 15, 2010 for their promo tour of the new album "Omni." The band mixes deep funk grooves, electro-pop and rock on their new album and really wanted to grasp that "live" feel their shows depict; and scratch out the overdubs in studio recordings as much as possible during the recording of the album. Minus The Bear's new album "Omni" drops May 4, 2010. Tickets: $18
