Throwback Tuesday

yuh!

Charles Hamilton: Normalcy EP

Chucky Ham released his first full length today since his return, couple of his songs he's released before the drop have been dope. Download Charles Hamilton's "Normalcy" here.

Album Artwork:

Brandun Deshay

Producer/rapper Brandun Deshay dropped his latest mixtape "Your Favorite Mixtape" as a little Christmas present. Deshay's concept for the tape was to mimic styles and rap over other artists beats, which was done in about 12 hrs. This Chicago native who was mentored by Charles Hamilton is looking to take over the rap game by mixing his midwest style and L.A. influences. Doing features and producing tracks for Casey Veggies, Dom Kennedy and others; Chicago looks to Deshay as the next big thing out of the windy city. Check his Volume One: For the Money & Volume Two: For the Show! tape also.

Outasight x LRG

NY native Outasight dropped his new mixtape "Further" presented by LRG earlier this week. This cat is puttin' his own stamp on rap/hip-hop and is expanding the ever so growing genre with his own creative take. Once being compared to Adam Levine (singer of Maroon 5) if he were able to rap, Outasight is divided between rapping and singing and brings best of both worlds together with bluesy, soulful and hip-hop samples. Def. worth checking out, download here:

Album Artwork:

Kidz In the Hall x LRG

Yeah I know I'm a little late with this, but its the holidays! Kidz In The Hall dropped their new tape "The Professional Leisure Tour" presented by LRG on Dec. 9. Not only is the album art dope, but the tracks are nice too. Definitely worth checking out. Kidz in the Hall also released a video for their new track "We Gone", and added some realness at the end of the track on the mixtape. Download tape here:

Redcafe x Loso

New Redcafe ft. Fabolous dropped last week. This track is nasty, but they could have gotten some better features on it.

Kid Cudi: Pursuit of Happiness

Cudi dropped his new video last week for his track "Pursuit of Happiness"..."I'm screamin' out F*ck that"

Cause when you try hard, is when you die hard

I don't usually get excited about new movies dropped, but these flicks have got me hyped!

Daybreakers

Chromeo: Night by Night

Chromeo dropped their latest video last week Night by Night

Mos Def New Vids

Seems like Mos is takin' a new avenue for videos; setting up on a solid "blackground" accompanied by effects. I'm diggin the concept, allows people to focus on the lyrics rather then the extra ish that videos are made of.

Casa Bey: A little late with this, dropped about two weeks ago but Def. one of my fav. Mos tracks

Supermagic: Dropped yesterday

Have fun yall...

Clipse: Til The Casket Drops

Clipse' new album "Til The Casket Drops" dropped today, copped it earlier but haven't had a chance to get past the first track yet Will def. give a follow up later because I've heard nothing but good things.

Throwback Tuesday

Diggy Simmons: First Flight Mixtape

Who would've thought Dig had flow? Going way harder then Jo-Jo, Diggy dropped his first mixtape "First Flight" (biting Wiz Khalifa) December 2. Young Dig keepin' it the family very nice. Download here.

Album Artwork:

DJ Khaled ft. Usher, Drake, Rick Ross, Young Jeezy: Fed Up

Potholes in My Blog Presents: Ocean State Sampler

The Potholes in My Blog squad compiled a nice selection of tracks by some of the hottest independent artists in Rhode Island aka Ocean City featuring Falside, Jon Hope, Chachi Carvahol and more. Few nice tracks on this tape, download here.

Album Artwork:

RJD2: Games You Can Win

The wiz RJD2 has done it again and has teamed up with Kenna for RJD2's new single released two days ago"Games You Can Win". Always a joy to hear RJD2, esp. new stuff. Look out for his new LP "The Colossus set for a Jan. 19 drop....enjoy

Vans New Releases

Vans released a few models which are available now, and def. caught my eye. The first is the vault garment pack; big fan of low profile shoes with a clean look and this def. delivers for kick back mode. The two shoes provide premium material with a grey suede body and black leather toe areas. Cost $70-75

In4mation x Vans teamed up for this second pair of shoes which drops on In4mation's online webstore December 12. The blue canvas material, blood red bottom and gum midsole create a very unique and clean look. Def. a nice pair for any season.

30 Seconds to Mars ft Kanye West: Hurricane

Didn't know what to think when I heard of the colab, but 'Ye generally kills any genre he gets on. Very nice track.

David Dallas: Big Time

What you know about that New Zealand hip-hop? Video concept is wack...actually down right horrible. But the track is straight.

Coldplay: Strawberry Swing

So I've notice I haven't been giving any love to the Indie genre, and I have no idea why because its one of my favorite styles. So I've committed to dropping more Indie posts on The TunnelVision. Anyways, this video came out around August or September and I still can't get over how sick it is....enjoy.

Throwback Tuesday

Wiz Khalifa: Deal or No Deal

Forgive the lateness, but its the holidays negros! Young Khalifa dropped his highly anticipated album Deal or No Deal Nov. 24, and yes well worth the dozens of mixtapes and years worth of waiting. Support good music, no downloads or isohunts buy and enjoy. Although this track isn't new still one of my favorites from Wiz, def. co-signing the beat.

this what I like to call...my typa shit

Tyga: Black Thoughts

Tyga's tape dropped last week sometime, and I finally got the chance to do a full listen through. Being compared to Wiz because of similar looks, Tyga's new tape is straight and far from young khalifa. Tyga's flows are legit and actually rappin' about some substancial ish rather then mixing the coconut and a lime together. Moving from his pop-hop, dude is holding it down. Def. worth a listen, download here.

Album Artwork:

Wale x 9th Wonder: Beast

Surprisingly this track didn't make the cut for Wale's new release Attention Deficit that was Prod. by 9th Wonder. I'm still salty that Attention Deficit sold only a little less than 30k in it's first week due to Interscope saying he is "Weisman" and bigger then metrics (radio), so they under shipped his LP which led to fans being unable to find it in stores while Flyleaf and the Twilight: New Moon soundtrack charts the top 10...

Purple Monkey Sircus: PMS 3/ "FML"

The cats of Purple Monkey Sircus (PMS) have dropped a new single for upcoming EP PMS 3 prod. by Mick Boogie. Stamping themselves as an alternative/hip-hop crew "FML" has a catchy guitar riff, but on the real these dudes can flow. PMS 3:Candyland will drop January 13 (link coming soon). Until then, download their first EP prod. by Mick Boogie if you haven't already copped it.

Esteban Pastorino Diaz @ Photographs Do Not Bend

Saturday, November 21-January 2, 2010

This Saturday Photographs Do Not Bend (PDNB) will hold an artist reception for Argentine artist Esteban Pastorino Diaz from 5pm-8pm! This International artist is known for his playful, aerial photographs that are taken by kite with his handmade camera creating some insane 3-D panoramic views; his latest project actually required him to acquire a pilot’s license and an extremely light craft. Diaz plans to break and set records by taking some of the longest and illest photos ever produced. These “play-land” esque 3-D photos are sure to catch the eyes of adults and children as well. Diaz also plans to arrive to Dallas early to create new works showcasing our city; and with all the life around the Metroplex, I’m sure our area will be an open canvas for Diaz. More here.

New Kanye: I'm So Appalled

Kanye gettin' back to the basics, murdered this track.

Strange Fruit Project: Mask EP

Dallas/Waco's own Strange Fruit Project just dropped their EP Mask (Making Art Sound Kool) featuring producers like PicnicTyme and 9th Wonder. I've been jammin' to The Healing (2006) for a minute so it's good to get some new stuff from these dudes. Free download of EP Mask here , support good music!

Throwback Tuesday

Strange Fruit Project: "Crash" Prod. by PicnicTyme

Strange Fruit Project just dropped a new single/video "Crash" produced by PicnicTyme. This track is all round dope! And the visionary is sick too. Free EP download available November 17 @ myspace.com/strangefruitproject.

Blueprint 3 Tour Recap

Ahh what to say what to say, nothing but a smile on my face during the whole show! If you have a chance you def. need to check out the next stop. Unfortunately me and the crewski didn't make it to the venue in time to catch opener J. Cole, but he ripped it on " A Star is Born" with Hov; and we made it in time for two N.E.R.D songs but wasn't able to get some footage. Was kinda salty that Austin didn't give NERD much love; everyone was pretty mellow and was just waiting for HOV to hop. Definitely one of the best shows I've been to, energy was sick and Hov did a couple tracks from Hard Knock Vol. 2, Blueprint 2 & some of the Black Album (Lucifier went to hard). Definitely worth the 3 1/2 hour trek from Dallas. Here's some rawness from the show, only snips though.

Supra Skytop II just set date for a November 21st drop...but in Paris :(. Getting buzz from skaters and sneakerheads from around the way, the skytops are a must have if you ask me. Can't wait for that State-wide drop. Only 600 pairs of the grey colorway will be available at a Paris boutique.

Brother Ali & Evidence @ The Granada

Thursday, October 27 @ 7pm

No strangers to the hip-hop world, the heavy-hitters known as Brother Ali and Evidence (member of Dilated Peoples) will be at the Granada tonight doin’ their thing along with Toki Wright and DJ BK-One on their Fresh Air Tour. This show will definitely be a refreshing dose of hip-hop, which will include some raw and soulful beats produced by Ant (Atmosphere) from Brother Ali’s “The Undisputed Truth”(2007) album; and the already proven rapper Evidence will provide a health dose of lyrics to keep that head nodding. more here

If you find some inspiration of colors through art or even a dog toy or something; you can take a picture of it and the app will put the color blends on shoes and you can select and customize each pair through the app. You can even go through your existing photos in your phone and choose colors from wallpaper/personal photos and customize kicks based on that color template. Hopefully the droid will push this app out asap.

Shine Exhibit @ Photographs Do Not Bend

Wednesday, November 4 through November 14

The Shine exhibit at Photographs Do Not Bend (PDNB) offers a unique and interesting look at the art of a shoe shiners hustle. Shine, the first of PDNB’s fall exhibition’s features black and white vintage photos (taken mostly in NYC) of shoe shiners and shoe shine boxes that illustrate young, aggressive salesmen on their journey to success.

“Many stories of successful entrepreneurs started at a young age with the “start-up” shoe shine business. This narrative of a young man’s first plunge into commerce offers a nostalgic look into our own youthful dreams of making our own money.” – PDNB Gallery

Butchers, Dragons, Gods and Skeletons @ Kimbell Art

Thursday, October 22 through October 25
Filmmaker Philip Haas has been appointed by the Kimbell Art Museum to create a series of five film installations (The Death of Pentheus, the Butcher’s Shop, Apollo and the Continents, Skeletons Warning Themselves and Arhat Taming the Dragon) based on paintings and objects in the museums permanent collection. Haas elaborates and recreates some of these works and puts a little twist on them. The film installations feature poetic and sensuous moving images that appear on bizarre screen plots that are enhanced by original music, architectural and sculptural effects. These installations allow you to form new vibrant ideas based off the original pieces and are visually pleasing.

Dirty Money: Angels

So this song keeps growin on me day by day. Jacking the Hov beat, on
top with B.I.G. verse and a nice hook; Diddy might be back! Yes I said it,
he hasn't been going as hard since his "No Way Out"-"The Saga Continues" .
Although he is livin by that autotune in this song, ish might be a classic.

Breakin' @ the AA Center

So me and the crewski hit up the AA Center for the Red Bull Sound Clash, and these dudes put on a little show for us. Was able to catch a few clips on the pocket size, wished I could get a some more playtime. Red Bull Sound Clash vids/pics coming soon.

Wale Ft. Pharrell: Inhibitions

New single off Wale's upcoming Attention Deficit dropped yesterday. Real nice to Wale stick to his mixtape roots when he goes mainstream. Album drops October 20th, Wale plans to give folks real hip-hop and not this "disposable" rap that everyone seems to be drooling over.
